Position: Senior Structural Engineer

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Structural Engineer to work for a leading Oil and Gas consultancy.

Due to continued success and expansion our client is looking for the right kind of candidate to join their Oil & Gas team based in the Midlands.

The client specialises in structural integrity management for a range of Oil & Gas companies including Operators and Contractors. Further to their work in the Oil & Gas sector the client is also carrying out work in the offshore / subsea renewables industry.

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate a strong background in Structural Engineering and Analysis within the Oil & Gas sector.

Understanding of wave loading and vessel motions would be highly beneficial as would experience in advanced finite element analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintaining and developing client relationships
Ensuring the provision of efficient high quality structural engineering
Meeting cost and time targets to assist the client’s process in delivering high quality consultancy services to oil and gas industry clients
Contributions to proposals and tenders
Contributions to business and marketing plans
Assisting with cost tracking and responsibility for invoicing
Opportunities exist to manage and develop small teams of junior engineers
Completion and delivery of engineering consultancy work for all types of offshore structures including fixed, floating and subsea.

Key skills and Qualifications required:

Honours Degree (or equivalent) in Civil, Structural or Offshore Engineering
As a minimum, working towards chartered status with a recognised institution
Civil and structural engineering experience preferably including offshore
Experience of finite element analysis and hand calculations using packages such as MathCAD and MS Excel.
Good report writing and presentation skills
Project control and management experience
Ability to cope rapidly with challenging problems
